Five charged following Old Harbour Bay gun and ammunition seizure
The Old Harbour police in St Catherine have charged five persons in connection with the seizure of three illegal guns and more than 20 rounds of ammunition on Sunday.
They have been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and being a member of a criminal organisation.
They are 27-year-old Kemar Omar Bent, 33-year-old Sheena Price and three juveniles, ages 17 and 15 years old.
The were charged on Thursday following an interview.
It is alleged that about 1 a.m. on January 21, the police responded to explosions in a section of Old Harbour Bay.
The police party intercepted a Toyota Probox motor car along the Old Harbour Bay main road.
One occupant reportedly jumped from the car and escaped.
During a search of the vehicle three loaded nine millimetre pistols were discovered.
