#JAVOTES2024 | Manchester North Eastern running smoothly
Polling stations for the local government elections are in full swing at Christiana High School in Manchester North Eastern, under the watchful eye of supervisor Heather Cole.
Her primary role is to ensure a seamless and orderly voting process.
Ambrozine Isaacs, an outside agent representing the People's National Party (PNP) and cousin of the late Gregory Isaacs, expressed satisfaction with the turnout so far.
"Everything is going smoothly with no complaints, and everyone here is getting along well," she shared, emphasising the positive atmosphere at the polling site.
Sitting beside her counterpart, Juliette Powell, outdoor agent for the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), exclaimed, "Victory, victory for the Laborites!"
She also acknowledged a good turnout, with the anticipation that it will get better.
Cole is confident of the support system in place to ensure that all goes well throughout the day.
Outlining the guidelines for the polling stations, she said, "There is no drinking, smoking, cellphones, none of that. No crowd is allowed within a hundred yards from the entrance where the auxiliary police are seated."
There are 98 polling divisions and 30,764 electors in Manchester North Eastern.
