Woman killed in St James crash after car hits pothole
A woman was killed early Friday in a motor vehicle crash reportedly caused by a pothole.
The name of the 33-year-old victim has not yet been released by the police.
A total of 290 people have died on the roadways so far this year, 37 fewer than the comparative figure last year, according to police data.
The 33-year-old woman was a passenger in a Nissan motor car that was travelling north along the Brandon Hill main road in St James about 1:15 a.m.
According to a police report, the driver lost control of the motor car after it drove through a pothole in the vicinity of the Blossom Gardens Children's Home.
The vehicle came to a halt after crashing into a concrete wall.
