Chef held with illegal gun in St Catherine

A 26-year-old man was arrested in St Catherine on Sunday following the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition.
It is reported that around 8:50 a.m., personnel from the St Catherine North Police Division conducted an operation in St John’s Heights, during which a P80 9mm pistol, affixed with a magazine containing 12 rounds of 9mm cartridges, was seized.
The man, who is a chef, was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating the matter.
