Man shot by police in Commodore in Linstead

A man was shot by the police during an alleged confrontation in Commodore, Linstead, St Catherine on Thursday morning.
The police say a firearm was seized from the man, who is yet to be identified.
Reports are that about 5:05 a.m., the police went to the area to conduct a targeted operation.
Upon entering a premises, the police say the team was challenged by the man, who was allegedly armed with a handgun.
The police say the cops took evasive action and fired, hitting the man.
The handgun was seized.
The man was taken to the Linstead Hospital, where he was admitted.
The Independent Commission of Investigations has launched a probe into the matter.
