A 35-year-old construction worker from Nairne Castle in James Hill, Clarendon has been charged after allegedly shooting a man and setting his vehicle on fire during an incident in the community last December.

The accused, Rodwayne Richards, otherwise called ‘Rambo’, faces charges of wounding with intent, malicious destruction of property, using a firearm to commit a felony, unauthorised possession of ammunition, and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Reports from the May Pen police are that about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, Richards approached a man who was sitting in his motor car and opened fire, hitting him in the face.

The police say Richards then set the motor car ablaze before fleeing the scene.

It is reported that the victim sustained severe burn injuries and was assisted to the hospital for medical treatment.

Following the incident, a report was made to the police, and Richards later turned himself in.

He was formally charged with the offences on Friday, March 6.

A court date is now being finalised.
