Two men remanded over cocaine seizure in St Catherine

Judge Genetta Smikle told two men charged in a cocaine seizure in St Catherine that a bail application could be entertained only after the forensic certificate is received in the matter.

She remanded the men into custody when they appeared before the St Catherine Parish Court on Friday.

The matter was postponed to April 7 as the court was informed that the forensic certificate was still outstanding. The judge said bail could be considered once the certificate is received.

The judge also ordered that an antecedent report be prepared by the Probation Department.

Lenroy Ferguson and Donald Baugh are charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, trafficking cocaine, and conspiracy to traffic cocaine.

They are represented by Rushane Clarke and Michael Jordon.

Allegations are that at about 5:25 p.m. on March 4, 2026, members of the police Firearms Narcotics Investigation Division in Ferry District, St Catherine, stopped a vehicle driven by Ferguson with Baugh on board.

During the search, a white powdery substance was allegedly discovered inside the vehicle. Both men were arrested on suspicion and subsequently charged following a question-and-answer session with investigators.
