Two St Ann men have been charged with murder and several firearm-related offences following the killing of 21-year-old Jordane Miller in Brown's Town on March 7.

Charged are 35-year-old Lonni Jackson, otherwise called ‘Ackadat,’ a taxi driver; and 31-year-old Sheldon Allen, otherwise called ‘Tall Strap,’ both of St Ann, a police statement said.

They are charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony.

According to the St Ann’s Bay police, about 11 p.m., on Saturday, March 7, Miller, otherwise called ‘Jay,’ of Retirement district, Browns Town, and Allen were allegedly involved in a confrontation.

Police said Allen reportedly used a machete to chop Miller on the head, causing a wound.

It was further alleged that Allen then called his friend Jackson, who was armed with a firearm. It's alleged that Jackson opened fire at Miller, hitting him in the chest and face.

The men reportedly fled the scene after the attack.

Police were alerted and Miller was transported to hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators said Allen and Jackson were subsequently arrested and charged after statements were recorded from eyewitnesses and based on caution statements allegedly given by the accused men admitting to the crime.
