PENN RELAYS 2017 - Calabar clock fast 39.98
PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania
CALABAR High sent out a strong signal that they will be hard to beat in tomorrow's high school Championships of America 4x100 metres final at the 2017 Penn Relays following a sizzling 39.98 seconds in winning their heat this morning.
The experienced quartet of Tyreke Wilson, Christopher Taylor, Michael Stephens and DeJour Russell (in running order) should challenge the 39.63 seconds meet record held jointly by themselves and Kingston College.
Five other Jamaican teams will join them in the finals slated for tomorrow at 12:50 p.m. (Ja time). Defending champions Kingston College, minus Jhevaughn Matherson, were the second fastest qualifiers with 40.29. The other Jamaican schools in the final are Jamaica College 40.89, Excelsior 41.33, Cornwall College 41.39 and Munro College 41.58.
