IAAF World Relays | Disappointment for Jamaica in men's 4x200m
Jamaica's strong run in the men's 4x200m at the IAAF World Relays ended in Yokohama, Japan on Sunday, after a dismal showing in the heats inside the Yokohama International Stadium.
The team of Chadic Hinds, Nigel Ellis, Oshane Bailey and Jevaughn Minzie were disqualified after crossing the line in fifth place after only managing a time of 1:22.83 in the heats, finishing way behind winners the United States, 1:19.73. The result mean that for the first time at these championships, the Jamaicans will miss the final of the event.
The Jamaicans had previously won two of the three contested 4x200m races at the IAAF World Relays and are the owners of the world record of 1:18.63, which was posted at the 2014 instalment of the championships in Nassau by the team of Nickel Ashmeade, Warren Weir, Jermaine Brown and Yohan Blake.
