DOHA 2019 | Demish Gaye, Akeem Bloomfield advance to 400m final

Jamaican quarter-milers Demish Gaye and Akeem Bloomfield have both advanced to the final of the men’s 400m at the IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar.

Gayle ran a season’s best time of 44.66 seconds to finish third in semi-final two and qualify for the final as one of the fastest losers.

The event was won Steven Gardiner from The Bahamas in season’s best of 44.13 seconds while Grenada’s Kirani James came second in 44.23 seconds.  

Meanwhile, Bloomfield finished third in semi-final three in 44.79 seconds also securing one of the fastest loser spots in the final.

The event was won by Trinidad and Tobago’s Machel Cedenio in 44.41 seconds.

The final will take place on Friday at 2:20 p.m.
