Jamaica's Nigel Ellis ran a personal best to qualify for the semi-final of the men's 60 metres at the World Athletics Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
Running in heat two of the event, Ellis, ran 6.64 seconds to finish third behind Barbados' Mario Burke, who also crossed the line with the same time, and eventual winner, Kenya's Ferdinand Omanyala, 6.62.
The event allows the first three into the semi-final as well as the next three fastest times from a total of seven heats.
Ellis' time is the slowest of all qualifiers.
Trinidad and Tobago's Jerod Elcock is also through to the semi-final, clocking 6.63 seconds to finish second in his heat and earn an automatic spot.
The United States' Marvin Bracy with a personal best of 6.46 seconds is the quickest through to the final, while Christian Coleman, who is returning to international action for the first time since he was banned for a whereabouts violation, is second, having won his heat in 6.51.
