Boys’ Town defeat Tivoli
Tournament leaders Tivoli Gardens fail to hold their three-point lead atop the Digicel Premier League table after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Boys’ Town in their west Kingston derby at the Edward Seaga Complex last night.
It was Tivoli Gardens’ first defeat in seven matches and only their third since the start of the season.
The latest result leaves them stuck on 29 points, while Boys’ Town climbed to 26 to remain in third place, but now one behind Waterhouse.
Renae Lloyd, 38th minute penalty and substitute Dean Thompson, 76th minute, scored for Boys’ Town. Roland Dean missed a penalty for Tivoli Gardens.
Waterhouse missed the chance to join Tivoli Gardens on 29 points following a 2-2 tie with visitors Village United at the Waterhouse Mini Stadium, while Portmore United handed newcomers Benfica at 3-0 defeat at Ferdie Neita Park in Portmore to remain in fourth place with 24 points.
In other games, eight place Reno and second-from-the-bottom Humble Lion battled to a 0-0 draw at Effortville Community Centre in Clarendon and Sporting Central Academy edged St George’s 1-0 at Lynch Park in Portland to climb to sixth place.
