Reggae Sumfest organisers say steps are in place to ensure no repeat of the 'mudfest' patrons experienced last year. The festival's Catherine Hall venue, which was overwhelmed with mud as a result of heavy rainfall, spurred the organisers, Summerfest Productions, to threaten to move the annual event to the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium.

The much-awaited signature event for Caribbean fashion, kicks off midweek with preliminary and opening activities to be followed at the weekend by a packed schedule of fashion shows, superstar concerts, after-parties, business meetings and workshops, as well as other fashion-industry developmental initiatives.

Tuesday night saw the launch of Caribbean Fashionweek (CFW) at Studio 38. Although it was only the launch of the event, the majority of those in attendance seemed to have put extra effort into dressing fashionably elegant.

Among the many stars of fashion, film, music and beauties who will grace the Caribbean Fashionweek (CFW) runway this year, will be the gorgeous Miss Bahamas, Anastagia Pierre. Pierre is expected to add her own special brand of pizzazz to the CFW runway.

THE BAGATELLE Basic School in Mocho, Clarendon, has been transformed into a model school eight decades after it was established by community stalwart Granville Anderson. The addition of a classroom block, staffroom, kitchen and sickbay and the renovation of the existing structure were accomplished by the Culture, Health, Arts, Sports and Education Fund (CHASE) at a cost of $15.2 million.
