Travellers between Jamaica and Canada will now be able to travel with ease as Trans-Canada Airlines (TCA) offers flights from Jamaica to Toronto. The manager of TCA in Jamaica, J.I. Edwards, was among the passengers on the first flight.

TCA starts new jet service here

A DC-8 jetliner touched down for the first time yesterday afternoon at Palisadoes Airport.

The Trans-Canada Air Lines DC-8 introduces a new jet service to Jamaica and will fly from Kingston to Toronto via Montego Bay and Nassau.

At the airport to meet the new jet on arrival were Ray Bentley, managing director of Lascelles (Transport) Limited, Clinton Alexander, airport manager; E.A. Williams, assistant airport manager, and D. Morris, manager of Lascelles Airlines Department.

On board for the first trip down were TCA’s official, W. Horner, and eight technician officials.

The manager of TCA in Jamaica, J.I. Edwards, was also on board – taking the trip down from Montego Bay where it stopped on its way to Palisadoes.
