State sets stage for making Portmore parish No. 15
Now this is completely garbage. This is what I don’t like about the JLP and the PNP. They treat governance like a marriage between the two of them. Something like parish status should be determined by the people via a referendum and NOT by a political party. This must be reversed. – @SlongDonBilly
If the leaders of the municipality can’t even get that right why should the town be elevated to a parish? – @Ni_lloc
That a madness. So when other place develops same way unuh a go turn it in to a parish? Ridiculous. Why not try to build a better bridge at the gorge? – Birdy Pody
Naming Portmore the 15th parish. How is that going to improve the country social rot and decay. Our politicians are set of comedians. – Frederick Lawrence
Plz guh fix the major infrastructures in the country and improve hospitals/clinics, schools and social structures. This drive is all about politics and securing votes. – John Jewey
Portmore lacks basic infrastructure. Congested roads, poor traffic management, overgrown garbage filled verges, no bus park & perennial indiscipline on the road. GoJ has its own intent, nothing to do with the people of Portmore. Aspiring to lift people out of poverty to live in a city without the wherewithal. – Lena Whyte
Fix the country first before you think about that, fix the road fix the hospital fix the crime which is more important stop wasting taxpayers money Mr Prime Minister. – Fitzroy Kepple
That is foolishness tek the tax payers money and update the country health facility. Buy bed and pay the healthcare workers better that them don’t have to run left the country to seek work overseas because of lack of pay and benefits. Use the money and do something worthwhile sir. – Andrae V White
Really now. Poor roads, expensive toll that’s blocked every morning after 6 am n it’s taking almost an hour from Port Henderson to get to Greater Portmore. No hospital. Just little little doctors office. No market. Contractors capitalising on this place and putting more and more houses. No improvement on the roads. Over the pass 20 years, there are a least 12 new schemes with little r no changes to infrastructures. How does [this] benefit the residents of Portmore? Can we get reduction in the expensive toll? – Maria T Egdirteh
I really don’t see how making Portmore a parish will benefit Jamaica! – Mark Regent
Take the money and time to do that and fix even two potholes pon a road! – Staightup Davis
