Tuckernuck reels in Tami Williams for new resort collection
It’s a new year, and another big fashion moment for Tami Williams.
The SAINT International supermodel’s calendar opened with the unveiling of her latest get: Tuckernuck’s Resort 2026 lookbook.
Recruited by the popular American apparel company, known for its preppy chic take on womenswear, Williams co-stars in their campaign collection described as “bring[ing] retro swim, soft pastels and breezy caftans for beach days that turn into night”.
“We shot in the Dominican Republic at the Playa Grande Beach Club last month,” The Rock’s modelling star told Living of the stunning Tuckernuck editorial.
In between casting call runs in the Big Apple, when we snagged time for a phone convo, Williams succinctly recalled: “a fabulous team and truly fabulous pieces”.
The stitched resort wardrobe of newly available separates includes cotton eyelet skirts, floral smocks, striped button-downs, and terry cloth tank dresses. Plus, there’s front-zippered, one-piece and bikini swimwear. And, gemstone necklaces, clam shell earrings and wide bow sunhats, too.
“As an island girl, it was good to be home in the Caribbean for this Tuckernuck shoot, and Dom Rep is such an exceptionally beautiful country. So, that combination alone was an amazing vibe to start with,” noted the SAINT top model of the December project that closed out an eventful work year.
Finding their light and best angles for shutterbug Coliena Rentmeester, Williams was joined by American model peer Paige Reifler to deliver artfully shot images at the Rio San Juan-drop pinned luxe resort. “They say teamwork makes the dream work, and it was great energy to be around the team of stylists and fashion editor Kat Lovelady and art director Brian Heiser. They were really great collaborators and the final photos are so gorg,” Williams added.
The exclusive Playa Grande beachfront development — which boasts nine boutique bungalows — was home for a short spell for the working vacationer Tuckernuck cast and crew that included the Jamaican fashion star.
The property underwent recent renovations by one of its owners, Celerie Kemble, a renowned designer heavily involved in every aspect of the beach club’s initial construction.
Evoking classic architecture, Kemble’s Palm Beach-inspired design touches give each bungalow a unique feel with bright pastels, distinct textiles and art collected from remote corners of the world.
Rentmeester and Heiser storyboarded the resort lookbook of stylishly outfitted women with the property’s bungalows, main house, tennis court, poolside and whitesand beach as scenic locales framing both Williams and Refler.
Loving his model protégé’s opening-year client campaign job, SAINT CEO Deiwght Peters sang her praises.
“I was recently marvelling at Tami’s career. It hit me that she’s been going strong, and on top of her game, for 12 years now,” he recounted to Living. “She’s literally been a Jamaican powerhouse in the industry, working for luxury houses in Europe to boutique brands in America, and transitions so seamlessly. In this business, where model careers can fizzle super-fast, Tami has demonstrated she’s a force to be reckoned with, and I remain so, so proud of her.”
Headquartered in Washington, DC, Tuckernuck — named for an island off Nantucket in Massachusetts — was founded in 2012 as an online direct-to-consumer clothing boutique in 2012.
The company’s chief executive officer, Jocelyn Gailliot, her sister, Madeline Grayson and Grayson’s best friend, September Votta, started the label out of the sisters’ parents’ garage after the siblings had completed college. The women’s shared ethos was to create an alternate brand to J. Crew, at a cost not as steep as a luxury fashion buy. Per Tuckernuck, by the company’s tenth anniversary, sales had surpassed US$100 million and achieved 53 per cent customer year-over-year growth from 2023 to 2024. Last year’s projected growth was 23 per cent.
After its flagship in Georgetown, Washington, Tuckernuck opened its second brick-and-mortar last year on the Upper East Side in New York. The brand is looking to add locations in Connecticut, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas and Boston in the future.
