Antwone Grey, the ex-boyfriend of burn victim Alecia King, who is charged with attempted murder and arson, was remanded when he appeared before the St Catherine Parish Court today.

The 19-year-old is also charged with malicious destruction of property.

The case will again be mentioned on April 16.

Grey was captured in an operation by the police in Browns Lane, Central Village, St Catherine on February 21.

He was apprehended a day after King returned to Jamaica following intensive life-saving surgery in the United States.

King, who was 17 at the time, was doused with gasolene and set on fire while she was sleeping at a relative's house in Redwood, St Catherine last August.

Grey was subsequently listed as a person of interest by the police following the incident.
