The police in St Mary are investigating the shooting death of a man at his home in Top Albany, Islington, on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old higgler Elvis Moore, otherwise called 'Speng' or 'Supa'.

According to a police report, about 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, residents heard loud explosions coming from the direction of Moore’s one-bedroom dwelling.

It is understood that around 5:40 a.m., a relative went to check on him and discovered that the door to his bedroom appeared to have been forcibly opened.

The police were alerted.

On arrival, officers found Moore lying on his back with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the right side of his body.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor.

In the meantime, the St Mary police are assuring residents that all efforts are being made to bring those responsible to justice and to maintain peace in the community.
