Say cheese, please! No, its not for a picture. It was all about cheese at Island Dairies' second annual cheese fair recently. With cheese offered in countless varieties, it was a guarantee that, going into September, which is recognised as cheese month, cheese would be on everyone's mind.

Anyway you have it or like it, cheese is delicious and nutritious. From cheese sausage delight, cheesy dumplings, cheesy potato pudding, cheese and nut, cheese and cracker casserole or cheese and pineapple mould, there was no end to the numerous ways to enjoy cheese at the fair.

There were also a few new 'cheesy' products on the market. Honey Bun had people buzzing about their three-week-old relaunched pepper bread with cheese. The jalapeno flavour wasn't overpowering, but added just the right amount of flavour.

But the big moment belonged to the new kid on the block, the launch of rum and raisin cheddar cheese. A moist cheese loaded with raisins, Food put it to the test and the results were mixed. From "great" to "I love it" to "yuck", some even thought it tasted like ice cream. But it's a new way to enjoy cheese.

But besides the food, it was the perfect family fun day. With body painting, 'say cheese' picture competition, Mr Wedge, Honey Bun bears and a clown with balloon tricks, there was enough to keep the little ones occupied, including the grand finale concert. A great start to cheese month.
