The rapidly growing Foodies Lyme has gained a new culinary partner in Red Stripe Light with the pairing set to unravel the unexpected palatable delights of the Jamaican lager.

Foodies Lyme, which will be next held on October 3 at its regular home - The Devonshire, Devon House - is considered to be Kingston's premier food-focused event. Led by chef extraordinaire Brian Lumley, Foodies Lyme combines the best of Caribbean ingredients and produce, delivering them as unique savoury delights. Lumley says the partnership with Red Stripe Light will open up the possibilities of presenting more Caribbean dishes in innovative ways.

"It's difficult to express in words how thrilled I am to embark on such a journey with a brand that is not only known for setting trends and staying ahead of the game, but who goes beyond the call of duty to cater to their consumers," said Lumley. "One of my goals, being a born and bred Jamaican chef, is to promote our local cuisine not only on an international platform, but to Jamaicans as well and I eagerly await the blossoming of this new and exciting relationship between myself and Red Stripe Light."

Lots more in store

Lumley also hinted that lots more is in store between himself and Red Stripe Light with a major announcement expected to be made soon.

Foodies Lyme started as a joint effort between Lumley and his younger sister Stephanie. Since its inaugural staging on July 4, the event has received positive reviews from both corporate Jamaica and patrons alike and the sibling team and Red Stripe Light are planning to tour the country with this very unique event.

Lumley has been making his mark on the regional culinary landscape in recent years with outstanding performances such as copping the coveted Taste of Jamaica Chef of the Year 2008 - the youngest ever chef to win this prestigious honour at the age of 22. He also joined forces with the Jamaican culinary team and competed at the 2009 staging of Taste of Caribbean held in Puerto Rico, copping a team gold medal while winning an individual bronze.
