World U-20 | Jamaica's Blake moves into men's 800m semis on time

Jamaica's J'Voughnn Blake qualified on time for the semi-finals after the heats of the men's 800 metres on Thursday at the Pascual Guerrero Olympic Stadium in Cali, Colombia.

Blake did a time of 1:48.97 minutes, to finish fourth in heat six, which was won by Ethiopia's Mersimoi Kasahun in 1:48.54 as Kuwait's Bader Alsweed was second in 1:48.60 and Czechoslovakia's Jakub Dudycha third in 1:48.83.

Jamaica's other representative in the event, Adrian Nethersole, failed to progress as he ended heat five in seventh. Nethersole did a time of 1:53.91.
