World U-20 | Silver for Jamaica in women’s 4x400m
Jamaica won the silver medal in the 400 metres at the World Under-20 Championships at the Pascual Guerrero Olympic Stadium in Cali, Colombia on Saturday.
The United States of America (USA) won the event easily, after leading from start to finish with Jamaica holding on to the second position for most of the race, only relinquishing it briefly at the second exchange. They were passed by Great Britain.
The Jamaicans, however, recovered by the end of that leg by Oneika McAnnuff and maintained a slight lead over Great Britain to get the silver medal. The other team members were Dejanea Oakley, Abigail Campbell and Alliah Baker.
The USA clocked 3:28.06 minutes with Jamaica doing 3;31.59 and Great Britain 3:31.86. The times were season bests.
