A Dominican businessman has defended writing to foreign aid donors alleging that the government of Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has mishandled loan funds.

Jerry Brisbane the owner of Brizee’s Mart says he wrote to the European Union, the president of China, and other aid donors about the spending practices of the Skerrit administration, in a bid to make the government more accountable and transparent.

The country's Labour Minister Charles Savarin reacted to the action taken by Jerry Brisbane by calling for a boycott of his business place.

But the businessman has countered by launching a petition calling for the removal of Savarin as Dominica’s Labour Minister.
