There was an air of regal beauty and elevated grandeur in the Rocksteady Ballroom of the AC Hotel as mesmerising couture rocked the runway for the highly anticipated event, Spring into Fashion.

Hosted by The Canadian Women’s Club of Jamaica, the celebration of opulent style got underway on Sunday, much to the delight and excitement of audience members who showed in stunning trends just for the occasion. Many engaged in the mingling sessions during the cocktail hour courtesy of CPJ Bar and Häagen-Dazs before finding their seats for the main event.

Captaining the proceedings in style, fashion show coordinator and compère, Joan McDonald, took viewers on an enchanting journey through inspiring creation and jaw dropping innovation. Ackeilia Cane got ‘Trendzy’ with beautiful African print designs for the young and fashionable. From there, the students from the textile department of the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts wowed the crowd with flowing trends that had many craving for more incredible looks.

Along that flight to destination high fashion, the audience was also introduced to an extensively exquisite collection from T&T Fashion and amazing silhouettes from the modern contemporary woman from Tamia Carey Collection. A co-ed couture collection from House of Fennel brought breathtaking dresses and tailor-made looks for men to the spotlight.

Standing out in style, Denise Katz placed activewear and swim designs into focus, showcasing the movement of life with each energetic strut. Designer Janseen Graham captivated the audience members with Endlesz Designs, bringing casual comfort to lavish proportions.

Hope Wade Designs gave viewers a taste of luxury with ‘Nature of Africa’ while Heather Laine presented a classic black and white collection. Completing the looks were magnificently paired jewellery pieces from Aviola Accessories. And fashion enthusiasts, and style experts, could not help but be fascinated by the remarkable fascinators that complemented several looks.

Among the show stopping moments, the audience got up close and personal with A Touch of Vintage on the main stage. Attendees were taken ‘behind the scenes’ into the closet of Miss World 1976, Cindy Breakspeare, viewing wardrobe selections of that time period. Classic vintage looks from Mutamba also graced the runway in style.

Of the many celebrities that walked the runway, fashion lovers were overjoyed to see Canadian High Commissioner to Jamaica Emina Tudakovic, walking the runway in fabulous fashion. The special guest model was accompanied by other celebrities namely Miss Jamaica World 2022 Shanique Singh, senator Dr Saphire Longmore, fashion designer and hairstylist to the stars Nealis Aris and interior ‘DeZign’ Diva Karen Booker and actor Justin Hadeed Awn, just to name a few

In honour of the fundraising event, guests adorned in trending fashion were invited to bid on the raffle in between the collections. When some weren’t busy feeling for letters under their chairs to spell ‘O Canada’, others were invited to display their modelling skills as they painted the runway in radiant red.
