CG2022 | Thomas-Dodd captures silver for Jamaica in women’s shot put

Seven-time national champion Danniel Thomas-Dodd captured the silver medal in the women’s shot put at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England on Wednesday.

Thomas-Dodd was leading going into the final round by was denied the gold medal by Canada’s Sarah Mitton, who produced a 19.03 metres throw in her final round, to eclipse Thomas-Dodd’s 18.98 metres mark.

LloydriciaCameron, Jamaica’s second representative in the final, finished just outside the medals with a fourth-place finish, throwing 17.62 metres.

Thomas-Dodd finished 10th at the recent World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
