Jamaica's Shericka Jackson sits on the track after the effort of producing a World Athletics Championships record 21.41 seconds in the final of the women's 200 metres inside the National Athletics Centre.

From the moment the gun went off inside the National Athletics Centre, the World Athletics Championships 200-metre final was between Shericka Jackson and the clock.
Jackson would end in a World Championships record, 21.41 seconds, seven hundredth of a second outside of Florence Griffiths Joyner’s 35-year-old world record.
The United States’ Gabby Thomas was second to the new Jamaican national record, in 21.81, while teammate and 100-metre gold medallist, Sha’Carri Richardson, was third in a personal best 21.92.
