Victims of plane crash identified

The police have released the names of the three men who died after their small aircraft disappeared from radar shortly after takeoff on Thursday and later crashed in Trelawny.

They are Rojorn Campbell, the pilot of the single engine aircraft, Carlton Snipe, and Miguel Jones.

The police report that the Cessna 206 aircraft took off from the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay shortly after 4 o’clock on Thursday destined for the Tinson Pen Aerodrome in Kingston with the three men onboard.

However, according to reports air traffic controllers lost contact with the aircraft while it was in the airspace over Trelawny.

The police say a search was subsequently launched and the aircraft was found destroyed in a densely wooded section of Georgia, Trelawny.

The bodies of the three men were reportedly found close by.

An investigation is now underway to determine to cause of the crash.
