Suspected drowning of policeman and teen at beach in Portmore

A policeman and a teenager are suspected to have drowned at a beach in Hellshire, Portmore, St Catherine today.
The deceased constable has been identified as Shamar Grant.
It is reported that the teen and a woman were swimming at Sand Hills Beach when they got into difficulty.
The constable, who is on leave from work, reportedly went to their aid but also encountered difficulties.
The woman was rescued and assisted to the Spanish Town Hospital.
Her condition is not known.
A search was launched to locate the policeman and the teenage girl.
The police were called to the scene.
Personnel from the Marine Division are expected to assist in the search.
The matter is being investigated.
