The editor, Sir: Thank you, Ian Boyne, for your article in The Sunday Gleaner of May 30. It was well written, objective and expressed so much of what well-thinking Jamaicans...
THE EDITOR, Sir: AS WE GO after the gangs, I would like to suggest a strategy that should help to get the guns in.We need to arrest the most influential leaders of all gangs, even if there isn't a charge against them at present.
The Editor, Sir: I have noticed people referring to the 'innocent people' of Tivoli or west Kingston. There are no innocent people in Jamaica except for children.
THE EDITOR, Sir: The current state of affairs in the country demands that we engage in serious debate about the way forward in terms of anti-crime measures.

THE EDITOR, Sir: Reporting the realities is a challenging task and necessary for planning that will lead to systematic reconstruction of the ruinous realities.

have read and watched with interest the developments in Jamaica since the Christopher 'Dudus' Coke extradition issue has come to the forefront. And, I must say how interesting it is when one man must take the fall for the ills of many.
I remember about 30 years ago I used to walk with a friend to a street in Kingston called Wilton Hill Drive, or something close to that. It would usually be about 9 p.m. and we walked along Industrial Terrace to get to our destination.
The most logical position and cogent position that Seaga could have taken was to keep his mouth shut. But his strident response was strongly symbolic, quite revealing and eerily familiar.
The more I contemplate our national conundrum is the more I think I see the hand of God behind it all. I do believe that Bruce Golding will eventually go down in the history of Jamaica as one of our best, certainly one of our most courageous prime ministers.
The issue of the prime minister's and indeed the entire government's resignation should be brought urgently back to the front burner, as every passing day demonstrates that they really have no clue in managing the state of affairs at this time, or in the foreseeable future.
The Editor, Sir:The war against rampant and out-of-control criminality in Jamaica can only be successfully annihilated through the collective and persistent efforts of an effective partnership between a praying church and a resolute security force.
The Editor, Sir:The article headlined 'Let my people go' is a mirror of the hubris of Edward Seaga. It is astounding that this man, who was partly responsible for the monster that is now Tivoli Gardens...
The Editor, Sir:Over the past few days, the media have attempted to view the eruption in Jamaica through the lenses of a drug and gun fuelled political war, a Mafia-style don protecting his people, and an interfering northern...
The Editor, Sir:Your article of May 27, titled 'Tivoli Gardens must be retrieved', was the most superficial analysis of Tivoli's politico-social-economic dilemma I have ever read.

The Editor, Sir: As I watch this complex West Kingston spectacle unfold, I am concerned that we once again get caught up and lose sight of the need for balance in the media reports. For example, the TV stations and radio shows are replete with residents...
